Thank You Veterans For Keeping Us Free and Safe! It is because of you that we are able to post our opinions on public forums such as this. We thank your families for their great sacrifice and the support they give their husbands, sons, and daughters as they are fighting for this great country. Andy, my cousin for which I am so proud. We grew up together as brother and sister. Andy was the most loyal man I have ever known. He was loyal to his family (mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc… Most of all he was loyal to his wife, children and COUNTRY. He dedicated his life to the military. Yet, never leaving his family behind. Even though most of his life was spent traveling throughout the world, he always made sure to keep a home for his family near whatever base he was stationed at the time. He wanted his family close by so he could see them when he came back to base, even if it meant only a few days or a few hours. We never knew when the phone was going to ring. I can still hear his voice saying,” Guess What Sis, I Am Coming Home.” It was never, I am coming to visit, he always said I am coming home to Michigan. It is hard to believe that we will never hear that phone ring again. Andy e-mailed and called us several times from Iraq. When I talked to him on the telephone from Mosul, he kept talking about how proud he was to have played a part in Iraq’s forming a Constitution. He talked about how his children would one day read about it in their history books and he would be able to tell them he was a part of it. He was a dedicated soldier, who believed war was necessary for the safety of our country. He died for the safety of Americans and for the freedom of Iraq. I can’t speak for Andy, but he can speak for himself. Andy had a message to America and he wanted that message known. These are some of the e-mails he sent me just days before his death. I hope it gives comfort to his family as it has myself. He ACCOMPLISHED THE ULTIMATE MISSION….. FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY! This world is not Andy’s home, nor is it ours. Our home is with Jesus and Andy is there waiting for us.
I LOVE YOU ! Love Sis,

Hey Sis, How are you guys? Great I hope. You can mention my name to anyone in the family and I TRUST you guys. The problem here is some of these assholes Soldiers and (CNN,BBC etc, etc) over here have passed stuff to the media/Local news papers via e-mails. People passing bogus WAR stories, Pictures and atrocities committed by soldiers in the field. All towards the Anti-War movement and as I have told you none of the POSITIVE we have done. I should write a frigin book at all the times throughout my 19 years that this BS has gone on.......Anyways I will get off my soap box and of course I will share my TRUE stories with you. I will call Eddie this weekend........I love and Miss you Guys........ANDY

Wassup Dana! How goes the campaign trail? Busy I bet. How has everyone been? I have not heard from your brother in a long while. Busy hunting I bet. The election referendum is finally over here, hardly any violence. If this thing passes we will see a surge in Violence and we will continue to hunt these assholes. We are definitely making a difference here in Mosul as far as the security and training of the Iraqis. Unlike all the NEGATIVE stuff CNN, NBC,CBS, ABC puts out to the american people. Yeah people get killed, but they forget this is a F**king WAR and people die, more bad guys of course.....hehe. I will get off my soapbox. I just get irritated at people saying WHY ARE YOU IN IRAQ! I VOLUNTEERED as I have in all the past shithole wartorn countrys I have been to. Well here is my Address again, but you really do not have to send anything....I love and miss you guys.........PEACE….ANDY.ps Tell your Bro, sister and everyone else Hey!

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Local 2285, in Eastchester, N.Y., had repeatedly asked the group to allow the Yonkers resident, Ligaya Lagman, to join after her son, Anthony, 26, an Army staff sergeant and an American citizen, was killed in Afghanistan last year. The Gold Star Mothers, based in Washington, received hundreds of critical e-mails as well as a letter signed by more than a dozen congresswomen. Judith Young, the newly elected president of the group, said in a statement that she would "reach out" to the mothers with pending applications.

I just read an article published at MSNBC.Com I find very disturbing.
Link to article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8014030

A 27-year-old son, Army Staff Sgt. Anthony Lagman, was killed last year in Afghanistan when his unit came under fire during a mission to drive out remnants of Taliban and al-Qaida forces. American Gold Star Mothers Inc., has rejected Lagman's mother, a Filipino, for membership because — though a permanent resident and a taxpayer — she is not a U.S. citizen.

You have to be an American citizen,” national President Ann Herd said Thursday. “We can’t go changing the rules every time the wind blows.”

"Wind Blows" ?   This young man gave his life for God and Country. He joined the Army and represented our country and made the supreme sacrifice for all of us and this is the way his mother is thanked..

It's a shame his honor and bravery is so disrespected in this manner. I hope this changes and his mother receives what she so deserves. God bless her and any other families in this same situation. Things must change. It's a disgrace to all of us.

I couldn't find President of Gold Star Mothers  Ann Herd's e-mail address but an e-mail address for the organization is goldstarmoms@yahoo.com .
Everyone who reads this should send this women a letter and let her know how you feel about this and maybe she will change her ways. I'm sure they do a lot of good, but with many non citizens now serving, I'm sure there will be more mothers in this situation and veterans as well. Do we deny non citizen veterans also ? Anyone who serves this country should not be denied, even if they are not citizens.
also see: http://www.goldstarmothers.us/contact.php & http://www.goldstarmoms.com
Thank you Mrs. Lagman for your sacrifice, my deepest heartfelt condolences for your loss. Thank you to all veterans for your service and duty to country, for if not for you I would not have the privilege to be sitting here right now typing this note at this bulletin board.
Remembering you this Memorial Day..... Thank you, God Bless America

It is absolutely wonderful seeing the rejuvenation of the KVC. I remember the soldiers and other vets from WWII building it. My neighbors ... We should never forget the fallen heroes of the war with Iraq. It was my honor to attend the memorial service held at Fort Bliss for the fallen soldiers of the 507th. Master Sergeant Robert Dowdy attended the same high school I did in Cleveland, Ohio and if anyone is intrested, they can log on to CLASSMATES.com then click Cleveland, Ohio, then click SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL. On the message Board I wrote a tribute to him under the headline "To a hero from South High". I recieved resopnces from many of his friends and relitives. It was very moving as we had been neighbors at one time and I didn't know it.

Ok I just did this a second ago. I was wondering if this site lists the men and women from Kenilworth who are in Iraq presently? I would love to know the names of people in our town, who have son's, daughter's, wives, husbands, mother's, father's, cousins, brothers..etc... It is important as a country that we pray, support, and care for each person fighting right now..but also it is important for us to know who, in our own home town, is there right now. Someone in my children's class could have a family member there..I would like to pray for that person(s).
